I ALWAYS love stumbling across businesses that are willing to think outside the square and offer a totally different product or service.

Vibrant Photography is doing something so unique it is likely to start a new wedding photography craze.

It is called Trash the Dress and involves couples taking the plunge one step further and drowning the gown.

The pictures in today's column are taken from a trial session Jonathan and Naomi Dear conducted near Dee and Shaaron Kramer's Landscape Photography Gallery at the bottom of Macquarie Pass. The toughest part was hiking through the bush in wedding dresses but all involved later described the experience at the waterfalls, also appropriately known as Jump Rock, as absolutely amazing.

And the willing models, Shaaron and Naomi, quickly forgot how cool the water was running down from the Southern Highlands.

Trash the Dress is already popular in other parts of the world and the Dears are confident it will take off in Australia.

The mission now is to expose Trash the Dress to the people of the Illawarra.

To do that Jonathan has placed the trial images on the web at vibrantphotography.com.au.

He is also in the process of setting up a new website at www.trashthedress.com.au where Illawarra photographers can contribute their own photographs and inspire others to get involved.

In addition, Vibrant Photography is running a competition on its own website for two free Trash the Dress sessions.

Enterprise is also planning to spend A Day in The Life with one happy Trash the Dress couple in 2008.
