What The Stars Are Wearing Oscars

Keira Knightley scored a double at the Oscar's, appearing on both

best-dressed and worst-dressed lists in a one-shoulder Vera Wang

gown of wine-coloured taffeta with a fi tted, asymmetrical bodice

and trumpet skirt, but overall her vote was in the affi rmative - she

also looked great in a different gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars party

- with her necklace, a 1960s stunner from Bulgari, pure Hollywood

glamour.

Charlize Theron was super-sophisticated in sleek black satin with a

pillow-size bow on her left shoulder and Felicity Huffman memorable

in a plunge-neck Zac Posen design. Salma Hayek and Uma Thurman,

both in Versace, also selected gowns with low-cut necklines.

Black was the dominant colour - Sandra Bullock wore a strapless

number by Angel Sanchez, and Rachel Weisz was in a portrait-neckline

gown by Narciso Rodriguez - but there were plenty of neutral

shades such as taupe, nude, ivory, bronze and platinum, while Jessica

Alba chose a light shade of gold for her Versace halter gown.

It's doubtful that even King Kong could have loved Naomi Watts in

her slashed-and-shredded Givenchy design.

Hairstyles were the casual chignon and long, loose curls were in

abundance. Make-up was pale, pretty and natural-looking.
